2023 VDDR VDDR-005

Description

Attributed by VarietyVista as VDDR-005, this 2023 Philadelphia Mint Eleanor Roosevelt quarter displays medium spread eastward on the upper central scale pole and both pan lines of the reverse. Don Everhart sculpted the reverse, featuring a scale of justice — a fitting tribute to Eleanor Roosevelt's lifelong advocacy for human rights. The eastward spread on the scale pole and pan lines places the doubling on the symbolic centerpiece of the composition. Three die stages have been recorded. Stage A captures the early die state, where the eastward displacement is most crisply defined. Stage B reaches mid-die state, pending confirmation. Stage C advances to late die state, also unconfirmed. The American Women Quarter program, launched in 2022, honors women whose contributions shaped American history, and the Eleanor Roosevelt issue is among the series' most recognized entries.
