Description

Struck on the 2022 Philadelphia Anna May Wong Quarter — the first U.S. circulating coin to feature an Asian American — this doubled die obverse displays light spread west on the D of GOD and the hair curl above the ear. Cataloged by VarietyVista as VDDO-002 with pending codes (UVC-???? DMR-00?), three die stages are documented: Stage A in early die state (unconfirmed), Stage B showing a die crack off the tip of the nose in early-to-mid die state with the reverse also in EMDS, and Stage C in late die state (unconfirmed). The nose crack in Stage B serves as the strongest visual marker for identifying this die pair.
