2010 (D) Lincoln Shield Cent - D-1DER-003T Trail Die Reverse

Description

2010D-1DER-003T is a Denver shield-reverse cent with trails from some of the letters of UNITED, all pointing straight down at 180°, south. TrailDies' number lays out the date (2010), the mint (D), the denomination (1, a cent), the side and category (DER, design extension on the reverse), the file (003) and the type (T, trails). The only marker on the middle-die-state coin is a small die dot inside the top loop of LIBERTY's B; the reverse has none. Albert Neils found the die. The lines are generally attributed to the die being polished with a rotary buff, although some trace them to the die moving against the hub.
