2010 (D) Lincoln Shield Cent - D-1DER-001T Trail Die Reverse

Description

The reverse of 2010D-1DER-001T has trails on many of its letters: UNI in UNITED, ERI in AMERICA, NE in ONE, and every letter of PLURIBUS and UNUM. They point at 350°, just west of north, toward the top of the coin. TrailDies' file number combines 2010 and D (date, Denver), 1 (cent), DER (reverse design extension), 001 (file) and T (trails). The middle-die-state coin has faint scratches in the field just behind Lincoln's jacket line on the obverse and nothing listed on the reverse. Cal Goddard found the die. Trails are mostly attributed to polishing of the die with a rotary buff, and by some to the die moving against the hub.
