The 2006 State Washington Quarter is a United States quarter from the State Quarters 1999-2008 series. In 2006, the Philadelphia, Denver and San Francisco Mints struck 2,956,210,790 quarters of the five designs, including 14,412,140 clad proofs, 7,925,040 silver proofs and 8,473,610 satin-finish quarters. The obverse features George Washington facing left, based on a 1786 bust by Jean-Antoine Houdon and the reverse displays unique designs representing each of the 50 U.S. states, released in the order the states ratified the Constitution or joined the Union. The 2006 quarters honored, in release order, Nevada, Nebraska, Colorado, North Dakota, and South Dakota. Struck in 75% copper, 25% nickel, 24.3 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Across its variants, estimated values range from $0 to $25 depending on mint mark, grade, and strike type. A notable auction result reached $3.8K in MS68 grade at Heritage Auctions.
