2005 (P) Oregon State Quarter - P(OR)-25DER-001T Trail Die Reverse

Description

On 2005P(OR)-25DER-001T, the Oregon quarter reverse, trails leave the tops of the trees and point due north, 000°, up toward the rim. TrailDies' number gives 2005 and the Philadelphia mint, the OR tag, 25 for the quarter, DER for a design extension on the reverse, file 001 and T, the plain trail type rather than wavy steps or a combination. Both sides of the coin it describes are at a middle die state, and no markers are noted, so the treetop trails are the feature to look for. Die polishing with a rotating wheel is the generally accepted source of trails; a minority explanation is die-to-hub movement.
