2005 (P) Oregon State Quarter - Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-006

Description

2005-P OR WDDR-006 is a doubled die reverse on the 2005-P Oregon state quarter, cataloged by the Wexler team. The doubling can be seen under the right end of Wizard Island. Obverse Stage A shows a strong gouge under the T of UNITED, a gouge between the S and T of STATES up high, a small gouge right of the second S of STATES near its base, a small gouge right of the first A of AMERICA near its top, and a crack through the upper part of the designer's initials. Stage B adds a long crack across the bust's base and a heavy chip running through the top of the JF. Reverse Stage A has a gouge right of the first O of OREGON, low down, and a gouge between the second zero and the 5 of 2005 at mid-height. Stage B shows two gouges left of the short tree's central branches, WNW-ESE scratches under the TER of CRATER, and a crack arcing SW to NE across the upper shoreline at its upper left end. Kenneth Russell submitted Stage A and Shawn Bell submitted Stage B. Crawford lists it as CDDR-003, and CONECA as 4-R-VIII.
