Description
The 2000 (P) Jefferson Nickel is a nickel from the Philadelphia Mint, belonging to the Jefferson Nickels Original Design 1938-2003 series. The Philadelphia Mint struck 846,240,000 nickels dated 2000. The obverse features Thomas Jefferson facing left and the reverse displays Monticello, Thomas Jefferson's Virginia estate. Standard production continued into the new millennium. Philadelphia's mint — the nation's first — has produced coins without interruption since its founding in 1792. Estimated market value ranges from $0.05 to $1 depending on grade and condition.
