2000 (P) Jefferson Nickel - Atypical Die Clash ADC-5C-2000-04

Description

ADC-5c-2000-04 is an atypical die clash on a 2000-P Jefferson nickel, cataloged by Mad Die Clashes. It shows two separate clash events, and MDC gives an overlay of the die positions for each. The upper right of the Monticello building left a mark, and two marks under the PL of PLURIBUS came from the front of Jefferson's coat; a feature there marked with a black arrow looks like a die dent, not a clash mark. The heaviest marks lie over the right side of Monticello, looking like "flames" rising from the roof. Just right of the I in IN is another feature that also appears to be a die dent rather than part of the clash. The coin is courtesy of David Strzalkowski.
