Description

Extra thickness shows on IGWT, the date, LIBERTY, and the lower queue. Strong notches show on the lower letters of LIBERTY, the upper left letters of IGWT, and on the upper left and lower left of the one in the date. Die Markers: Obverse Stage A: Die scratches run NNW/SSE to the right of the lower E in WE. Obverse Stage B: A die crack running across the base of the bust extends into the field on the left and into the lower queue on the right. A die crack runs east to west through the upper hair. Reverse Stage A: A strong die gouge (dot) can be found below the second A in AMERICA. Reverse Stage B: A die crack runs down the eagle’s lower right wing extending to the upper Q in QUARTER. A die crack can be found on the eagle’s upper left wing. Obverse Stage A:
