Description
1964-D WDDO-006 is a doubled die obverse on the 1964-D Washington quarter, cataloged by the Wexler team. An extremely close spread toward the center appears on the lower queue, the date and LIBERTY. On the obverse, a scratch links the E in WE, at its upper right, with the underside of the chin, running north; scratches head south off the lower R and U of TRUST; the U in TRUST has two small gouges (dots) above its upper left; a scratch heads SW off the I in LIBERTY from its lower left; and a light crack crosses the bust's base. On the reverse, a crack crosses the lower right wing and ends at the Q in QUARTER, by its upper left, and two SW/NE scratches lie left of the eagle's neck. Joe Feld submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
