1958 (D) Roosevelt Dime - Repunched Mintmark WRPM-008

Description

1958-D WRPM-008 is a repunched mint mark on the 1958-D Roosevelt dime, cataloged by the Wexler team. Wexler describes it as D/D Tilted (Rotated). The obverse has a Flanged G in GOD. A long die crack runs south from the rim near 1:00 and meets a SSE crack that turns south through the back of the head. A light die chip sits above the nostril, a short NNE/SSW gouge lies at the back of the lips, and die chips mark the cheek. On the reverse, an E/W scratch joins the bottoms of D and I in DIME. A die crack runs NNW from the rim near 5:30 through the I and M of DIME to the knob on the torch base's right side. E/W scratches cross the lower parts of the letters in OF AMERICA, and a N/S crack lies on the second flame on the right. Jeff Longeuay submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
