1958 (D) Jefferson Nickel - Repunched Mintmark WRPM-016

Description

1958-D WRPM-016 is a repunched mint mark on the 1958-D Jefferson nickel, cataloged by the Wexler team. The secondary D is tilted (rotated) relative to the primary (D/D Tilted (Rotated)). On the obverse, a curving SW/NE die scratch lies left of the nose. On the reverse, many horizontal scratches cross the MON of MONTICELLO; a scratch heads NNW off the second T in STATES; and another heads SW off the bottom of MONTICELLO's second O. Tracy Mundy submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
