Description

Cataloged by the Wexler Team as 1958-D 5¢ WRPM-012, this Jefferson Nickel exhibits a D/D Tilted (Rotated) repunched mintmark — a variant where the secondary D impression was applied at a rotational angle relative to the primary, creating a distinctive offset pattern where different portions of the letter show varying degrees of separation rather than a uniform directional shift. Obverse die markers include a vertical die scratch to the left of the lower forehead of Jefferson's portrait, while the reverse carries numerous die scratches running northeast from the top of Monticello — a cluster of directional scratches in the upper portion of the building's facade.
