Cataloged by the Wexler Team as 1957-D 5¢ WRPM-005 with no known cross-references to other attribution systems, this Jefferson Nickel displays a D/D Tilted (Rotated) repunched mintmark where the initial D punch was applied at an angular offset from the final corrected impression, combining aspects of both tilt and rotation to create a complex overlapping letter pattern. Obverse die markers include a small die gouge in the upper right W of WE, while the reverse shows die scratches running east-southeast from the left underside of the Monticello building. The die scratches emanating from beneath Monticello's foundation line provide a distinctive reverse marker because the building's architectural base creates a clear geometric reference against which any scratches can be precisely located and measured. The Jefferson Nickel was designed by Felix Schlag and struck at the Denver Mint in 1957, composed of 75% copper and 25% nickel at 5.00 grams with a 21.21 mm diameter.
