1954 (D) Roosevelt Dime - Repunched Mintmark WRPM-005

Description

1954-D WRPM-005 is a repunched mint mark on the 1954-D Roosevelt dime, cataloged by the Wexler team. Wexler describes it as D/D North. On the obverse, an E/W die crack sits at the upper back of the hair, a die chip lies on the nose above the nostrils, and a short N/S scratch sits low between the R and T in LIBERTY. On the reverse, a V-shaped scratch heads NW from the D of DIME, and left of the I of DIME is a large X-shaped scratch. From the topmost flame of the torch a scratch runs north through STATES's last S, another runs SE off the I of PLURIBUS, and a long S by E scratch starts at the lower left oak leaf and crosses the acorn and the S in PLURIBUS. Jeff Longeuay submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
