1954-D Repunched Mintmark WRPM-003

Description

WRPM-003 documents a tilted, rotated D/D repunched mintmark on the 1954-D Roosevelt Dime, attributed by the Wexler Team and catalogued as Wexler Variety ID 1954-D 10¢ WRPM-003. The secondary mintmark impression is visibly displaced in a rotational orientation relative to the primary punch, producing the characteristic D/D tilted appearance that separates this variety from a simple north or south repunch. Reverse die evidence is particularly strong on this die: a die clash appears as a doubled impression at the lower olive branch extending toward the first U in PLURIBUS, and a separate set of long die scratches runs SSE beneath the R in PLURIBUS. A weaker secondary clash is visible at the upper right oak leaves. Obverse die markers include northeast-to-southwest die scratches both above and below the GOD in IN GOD WE TRUST.
