1953 (S) Jefferson Nickel - Repunched Mintmark WRPM-013

Description

1953-S WRPM-013 is a repunched mint mark on the 1953-S Jefferson nickel, cataloged by the Wexler team. A secondary S lies west of the primary S (S/S West). On the obverse, a die gouge lies south of the Y in LIBERTY, toward its left side. On the reverse, a gouge sits under the M in UNUM, toward its right side; a small gouge sits in the space from Monticello's bottom to the U in UNITED at its top left; and a short scratch heads WSW off MONTICELLO's M, from its bottom right side. Brian Ribar submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
