1953 (S) Jefferson Nickel - Repunched Mintmark WRPM-006

Description

1953-S WRPM-006 is a repunched mint mark on the 1953-S Jefferson nickel, cataloged by the Wexler team. A secondary S lies west of the primary S (S/S West). Obverse Stage A has a small gouge in TRUST, between the R and U, and a scratch heading north from the knot in the queue's ribbon; by Obverse Stage B those markers can no longer be seen. On Reverse Stage A, short vertical gouges lie above the right roof; on Reverse Stage B they are very weak but still visible. Scott Rusch submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
