1951 (S) Jefferson Nickel - Repunched Mintmark WRPM-003

Description

1951-S WRPM-003 is a repunched mint mark on the 1951-S Jefferson nickel, cataloged by the Wexler team. A secondary S lies east of the primary S (S/S East). Wexler notes no significant obverse markers. On the reverse, a small die gouge sits just under the mint mark; a long north-south scratch lies left of Monticello; and a SSW/NNE scratch crosses the F in OF on its right side. Brian Ribar submitted the variety. CONECA lists it as RPM #2, though Wexler's comments note that CONECA describes it as an S/S West.
