1951 (S) Jefferson Nickel - Repunched Mintmark WRPM-002

Description

1951-S WRPM-002 is a repunched mint mark on the 1951-S Jefferson nickel, cataloged by the Wexler team. A secondary S lies east of the primary S (S/S East). On the obverse, a die scratch heads west off the bottom of the W in WE, and a gouge (dot) sits between the 1 and 9 of the date, low down. On the reverse, a scratch heads south off the M in MONTICELLO, from its bottom right, and in FIVE, scratches head NW off the V and the E, each from its top left. Brian Ribar submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
