1950-D Repunched Mintmark WRPM-007

Description

Submitted by Nicholas Bitetto and attributed by the Wexler Team (Wexler Variety ID: 1950-D 10¢ WRPM-007), this Denver Mint Roosevelt Dime shows a D/D North repunched mintmark. CONECA lists it as RPM #2. Obverse die markers include very light N/S die scratches at the lips, bridge of nose, and back of neck, plus two E/W and one N/S die cracks in the hair. The reverse carries a NNW die scratch from the top oak leaf to F of OF, a short N/S die scratch at lower right of the flame, crisscrossing die scratches adjacent to the torch holder, a die crack south from lower torch bands, a WNW/ESE die crack on the bottom of the torch holder, and a die chip near upper center of M in DIME. Produced during the post-war boom as the Roosevelt design entered its fourth year, the 1950-D dime saw substantial Denver Mint output for a growing economy.
