Description
1949-S WRPM-028 is a repunched mint mark on the 1949-S Lincoln Wheat cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. Wexler describes it as S/S West: the secondary S lies west of the primary. Obverse markers: a gouge above the G of GOD; a scratch right of the E in WE; scratches heading north from the top of the L in LIBERTY and others heading south from its base; and strong scratches running north in the field above the TY of LIBERTY. Reverse markers: strong scratches over the B and U of PLURIBUS; N/S scratches within the O of ONE; and two stronger scratches heading south from the base of that O, reaching the E of CENT on its left side. Brian Ribar submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
