Description

Obverse Stage B: Die Markers: Obverse Stage A: NNW/SSE die scratches through the date, heaviest at the 4. NW/SE die scratches at the ST of TRUST. Two short die gouges north from the hair, SW from WE. Die gouge NNW from the rim located below the back of the bust. Heavy die scratch SE from the upper right of the E in WE. Obverse Stage B: Stage A scratches abraded away except the presence of a weaker scratch from the E of WE. Both Stage A gouges still present. Obverse Stage C: Only a few weak Stage A die scratches still present. Light E/W die crack over the designer’s initials. Die scratch south from the bust right of the D in the designer’s initials. Reverse Stage A: Heavy, mostly northerly die scratches through the first S, the A and the second S of STATES. Die scratches south from the last A in AMERICA to the right wheat stem. Long die scratch N by E from the left upper side of the N in ONE running to the right of the B in PLURIBUS. Light die scratches north from the top of the T in CENT and through the E of ONE. Reverse Stage B: Die chip in the field right of lower right wheat stalk. Reverse Stage C: Only weak die scratches present at both S’s in STATES and the last A in AMERICA. Obverse Stage A:
