This 1947 Denver Lincoln wheat cent presents a D/D tilted or rotated repunched mintmark, cataloged under Wexler Variety ID 1947-D 1 cent WRPM-020. The obverse carries a die scratch in the field below the bust, a die gouge between the W and E of WE, and a diagonal die scratch running through the lower leg of the E in WE. Reverse diagnostics include a die scratch running under PLU then through the R and ending in the field on the right edge of the I in PLURIBUS, along with a die scratch between the legs of the lower N in ONE. Notably, the reverse die is also a doubled die listed in the Wexler Doubled Die Files as 1947-D 1 cent WDDR-001, making this a dual-attribution variety. The doubled die reverse shows the lower right wheat stalk doubled on the right edge and stem, while the left wheat stalk and stem display extra thickness.
