Description
1947-D WDDR-001 is a doubled die reverse on the 1947-D Lincoln Wheat cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. The lower right wheat stalk shows doubling on its right edge and its stem, and the left wheat stalk and stem are doubled as well, showing as extra thickness on the stem and the lower left wheat stalk. The obverse has a repunched mint mark, a D/D Tilted (Rotated) that the Wexler RPM Files list as WRPM-020. Obverse markers: a scratch in the field under the bust; a gouge between WE's W and E; and a diagonal scratch through the lower leg of WE's E. Reverse markers: a scratch that runs under PLU, then through the R, and ends in the field at the right edge of PLURIBUS's I; and a scratch between the legs of ONE's lower N. David Mulberry submitted the variety. CONECA lists it as 1-R-II.
