1947 (D) Lincoln Wheat Cent - Repunched Mintmark WRPM-011

Description

1947-D WRPM-011 is a repunched mint mark on the 1947-D Lincoln Wheat cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. Wexler describes it as D/D North: the extra D lies north of the primary. Obverse Stage A: a large gouge at the upper right of GOD's D; southward scratches from the upper lip and the nose's bottom; and north-south scratches about the date. On Obverse Stage B a chip sits on the bridge of the nose, and most of the Stage A scratches around the date have disappeared. Reverse Stage A: WSW/ENE scratches through UNUM's letters, and an east-west scratch above the ST of STATES. Reverse Stage B adds a chip right of the upper crossbar of ONE's E and a chip under the last S of STATES. Scott Rusch submitted Stage A and Ben Peters Stage B. Wexler lists no cross-references.
