The die state progression spans three documented stages: Stage A is cataloged as early die state but remains unconfirmed; Stage B shows both obverse and reverse in mid-die-state; Stage C presents late die state characteristics including a light die crack running across the base of the bust and a die crack descending down the eagle's right wing to the Q of QUARTER on the reverse.
