Description
1943 WDDO-004 is a doubled die obverse on the 1943 Washington quarter, cataloged by the Wexler team. A counterclockwise (CCW) spread pivoting from about 7:00 appears on LIBERTY, the 3 of the date, the ribbon's bottom and the designer's initials. On the obverse, a WSW/ENE crack crosses the upper hair and continues through the lower T in LIBERTY. On the reverse, a crack descends the eagle's right wing. Jim Lafferty submitted the variety. Crawford lists it as CDDO-001.
