Description

This 1937 (D) Lincoln Wheat Cent repunched mint mark, WRPM-003, is cataloged by Wexler (doubleddie.com) as 1937-D 1¢ WRPM-003. The mint mark is D/D South. Stage A obverse: scratches from the lower E of WE running SW to the hair and a NE-SW scratch inside the lower loop of the 3. Stage B adds a die crack over the designer's initials with light chips on the V, which is longer with heavier chips on Stage C. Reverse: a NW-SE scratch on the right wheat grains NE of the last S in STATES (A); on Stages B and C a north-south scratch centered on the U of UNITED and SE scratches from its lower right.
