1937 (D) Lincoln Wheat Cent - Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-004

Description

1937-D WDDO-004 is a doubled die obverse on the 1937-D Lincoln Wheat cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. The eyelid is doubled, with the extra one east of the primary. The mint mark is also repunched, listed in Wexler's RPM files as WRPM-004. Other obverse markers: a scratch running south off the R of LIBERTY's right leg, and a NNW/SSE scratch to the right of the eyelid. On the reverse a scratch runs N by E from UNITED's N, at its upper right, to the C of CENT. Eric Axtell submitted the variety. CONECA lists it as 2-O-IV; the Coppercoins number is 1937D-1DO-003.
