1911-D Repunched Mintmark RPM-002

Description

Cross-referenced as Fivaz-Stanton FS-502, the 1911-D RPM-002 Lincoln Wheat Cent documented by VarietyVista exhibits D/D Southeast from the third year of the Lincoln series following its 1909 debut. Die markers UVC-1073 / DMR-003 track three stages: Stage A with both obverse and reverse at EDS; Stage B at MDS (unconfirmed); Stage C at LDS (unconfirmed). The FS-502 listing validates this as actively sought in the marketplace. Struck at Denver in 1911 in 95% copper and 5% tin and zinc, weighing 3.11 grams at 19.05 mm diameter, the 1911-D had a mintage of approximately 12.7 million pieces — relatively modest for the era.
