1911 (D) Lincoln Wheat Cent - Repunched Mintmark WRPM-002 / RPM-002

Description

Cross-referenced as FS-502, the 1911-D Lincoln wheat cent RPM-002 documented by VarietyVista, which Wexler numbers WRPM-002, is a repunched mintmark that VarietyVista describes as D/D Southeast and Wexler as D/D South. Wexler writes the Cherrypickers number FS-01-1911D-502 (012.81). Wexler's Coins and Die Varieties found no visible markers on either side, noting that the coin examined was circulated. It credits the submission to Paul Funaiole (spelled Paul Funiaole in its entry) and also lists CONECA RPM #2, Crawford CRPM-002 and Coppercoins 1911D-1MM-002. VarietyVista also credits Paul Funaiole. Under marker codes UVC-1073 and DMR-003, both sides are early in stage A; stage B, a middle die state, and stage C, a late one, are unconfirmed.
