1884 (O) Morgan Dollar - Repunched Mintmark WRPM-005

Description

1884-O WRPM-005 is a repunched mint mark on the 1884-O Morgan dollar, cataloged by the Wexler team. Wexler describes it as an O/O West. On the obverse, a tooling gouge sits on top of the diagonal bar of UNUM's N. The reverse is an unnumbered doubled die (WDDR-???), with doubling toward the rim on the lower parts of TATES OF AMERICA, on GOD WE TRUST, the outer right wreath and the ribbon bow. It also has die chips inside the upper part of DOLLAR's D, a double die clash on the left wing under IN's N, and a die chip high inside the G of GOD. David Mulberry submitted the variety. CONECA lists it as RPM #2, and its VAM number is #7.
