The 1870 Three Cent Patterns is a United States cent from the Standard Silver Patterns (1870) series. Produced at the Philadelphia Mint. The obverse features experimental designs for a proposed "Standard Silver Dollar" of reduced weight and the reverse displays various experimental designs. A notable auction result reached $23K in PR66 grade at Heritage Auctions. Designed by William Barber.
