The 1870 Three Cent Patterns page groups the three-cent pieces dated 1870 in the Standard Silver Patterns (1870) series, all struck at the Philadelphia Mint. J-794 and J-795 come from the regular nickel three-cent dies and J-802 to J-804a from the regular silver three-cent dies. J-796 to J-801 pair William Barber's new seated Liberty obverse with the regular silver three-cent reverse, in silver, copper and aluminum with plain and reeded edges, and were sold in silver sets.
