The 1903 Philippine Half Centavo is a United States cent from the Philippines Half Centavos 1903-1908 series — the first year of the series. The obverse features a male figure seated beside a hammer and anvil and the reverse displays an eagle above a shield, with UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. Produced during the Progressive Era, when President Theodore Roosevelt championed a renaissance in American coin design that produced some of the most beautiful coins ever struck. Struck in bronze.
