2018 (P) Block Island National Wildlife Refuge Quarter - Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-007

Description

2018-P RI WDDR-007 is a doubled die reverse on the 2018-P Block Island National Wildlife Refuge quarter (Rhode Island) in the America the Beautiful series, cataloged by the Wexler team. Minor doubling lies between the second and third feathers above the ground on the left wing and reaches the underside of the right wing's bottom feather. Obverse Stage A shows a small gouge inside the O of OF at its lower left and another between the two L's of DOLLAR. Stage B adds a short horizontal gouge right of the N's base in IN and, near the top of the second L of DOLLAR on its right, a small gouge; the O in OF now has two small gouges in its lower part. Reverse Stage A shows a small chip on top of the bird's eye; Stage B has a die break beneath the top feather on the bird's back. George W. Powell, Jr. submitted the variety.
