Description
2018-P RI WDDR-003 is a doubled die reverse on the 2018-P Block Island National Wildlife Refuge quarter (Rhode Island) in the America the Beautiful series, cataloged by the Wexler team. Minor doubling appears at the end of the left wing's second feather above the ground. Obverse Stage A has a gouge under the last A of AMERICA. Stage B shows many small gouges radiating across the obverse and a short horizontal gouge under the N of IN. Reverse Stage A has a large die break on the bird's back, beneath its top feather. Reverse Stage B shows a small chip at the top of the bird's eye and two small gouges over the first C of the designer's initials CTC. George W. Powell, Jr. submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
