Description
2018-P RI WDDR-004 is a doubled die reverse on the 2018-P Block Island National Wildlife Refuge quarter (Rhode Island) in the America the Beautiful series, cataloged by the Wexler team. Minor doubling lies beneath the end of the left wing's third feather above the ground. Wexler notes no significant markers on either side at Stage A. On obverse Stage B, a chip appears on the bust's base, north of the R in QUARTER, and Stage C looks the same. Reverse Stage B shows a die break on the bird's back, under its top feather. Reverse Stage C has a die break on the bird's shoulder with a crack running east to the head, and a large gouge under the right side of the K of BLOCK, which Wexler says may also exist on earlier stages. George W. Powell, Jr. submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
