2018 (P) Block Island National Wildlife Refuge Quarter - Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-002

Description

2018-P RI WDDR-002 is a doubled die reverse on the 2018-P Block Island National Wildlife Refuge quarter (Rhode Island) in the America the Beautiful series, cataloged by the Wexler team. Minor doubling appears at the end of the left wing's second feather above the ground. Obverse Stage A shows a short horizontal gouge above and between the U and S of TRUST, and two short vertical gouges over the gap between the A and R in DOLLAR. Stage B has a short vertical gouge left of the A's top in DOLLAR. On reverse Stage A, over the first C of the designer's initials, CTC, there is a small gouge; on Stage B, a large chip sits beneath the top feather on the bird's back. George W. Powell, Jr. submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
