Description
2013P-1DER-008T carries trails on UNITED and the JFM initials, offset at 200°, south-southwest, down and a little left. On the shield reverse, UNITED starts the legend at the upper left and JFM sits beside the shield's lower right. The number divides into 2013P for a 2013 Philadelphia coin, 1 for the cent, DER for TrailDies' reverse design extension, 008 as the file and T meaning trails. The coin TrailDies describes is at an early-to-middle die state (stage B), and neither side has a listed marker. David Strzalkowski found the die. The common explanation for trails is a rotary polishing wheel used on the die; some instead credit movement of the die on the hub.
