2013 (P) Lincoln Shield Cent - Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-001

Description

2013 WDDO-001 is a doubled die obverse on the 2013 Lincoln Shield cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. The letters of LIBERTY show strong extra thickness and the date moderate extra thickness. Strong notches mark the top left of the ERTY in LIBERTY. Wexler records two stages. The Stage A obverse has a small gouge (dot) left of the center of the 2 in the date. On the Stage B obverse, one crack runs SSW to NNE through the hair left of the upper ear, and another starts at the eyebrow and runs NNE, curving north into the forehead. Wexler notes no markers on the Stage A reverse. On the Stage B reverse there is a chip on the shield's top left, north of the E in EPU, and a crack along the top of the shield's left side. Richard Ray submitted Stage A and Tanaka Davis Stage B. Its Coppercoins number is 2013P-1DO-001.
