Description
On 2013P-1DER-004T, trails leave the ATES of STATES at 105°, a little south of east. TrailDies' file code reads 2013 Philadelphia (2013P), one cent (1), design extension on the reverse (DER), file 004, trails (T). George dePozsgay found it. The middle-state coin described can be checked by its markers: a gouge, like a dot, between the 1 and 3 of the date, and a crack across the hair below the D of GOD, WE and the T of TRUST. On the reverse, curved scratches lie in the field near the lower left of the shield, and a crack crosses the shield's upper part. Like other trail dies, this one is usually explained by polishing with a rotary tool, though some attribute the lines to die-against-hub movement.
