2013 (P) Lincoln Shield Cent - P-1DER-001T Trail Die Reverse

Description

2013P-1DER-001T, the reverse coupled with obverse 2013P-1DEO-004T, has trails from the TE of UNITED running at 090°, due east. The code gives the year and mint (2013P), the cent (1), DER for TrailDies' design extension reverse, file 001 and T for trails. The coin is at an early die state (stage A): the obverse shows nothing, while the reverse has a small crack at the top of AMERICA's C and a light crack along the upper left of the shield. Joe Koelling found it. Trails are most often explained as marks of rotary polishing on the die, with some instead blaming movement of the die against the hub.

• Reverse is EDS – a small die crack is seen from the top of the C in AMERICA. A light die crack is seen along the top, left edge of the shield.
