2013 (P) Lincoln Shield Cent - P-1DEO-005T Trail Die Obverse

Description

Both the digits of the date and the letters of LIBERTY have trails on 2013P-1DEO-005T, offset at 010°, a little east of north. TrailDies' code means 2013 (date), P (Philadelphia), 1 (one cent), DEO (design extension, obverse side), 005 (file) and T (trails). No obverse markers are given for this stage B coin; the reverse has two die chips on the shield's left edge, one at the top and one lower down. Joe Koelling found the die. As with other trail dies, the lines are usually credited to rotary polishing, and a minority holds that the die moved against the hub.
