2013 (P) Jefferson Nickel - P-5DEO-001T Trail Die Obverse

TrailDies' 2013P-5DEO-001T is a 2013 Philadelphia nickel obverse; the number runs date and mint, the 5 of the denomination, DEO marking a design extension found on the obverse, file 001, and T, trails. Light lines leave the word WE and run at 120°, east-southeast, toward the lower right. The coin described is an early die state (stage A) with no markers on either side, although the entry mentions small dimples on the reverse lettering. Michael Taylor found the die. The usual explanation is that a rotary buff, used to polish the die, dragged the lines out, though some favour die movement against the hub.
