2012 (P) Native American Dollar - Position A - P(SAC)-100DEO-001T Trail Die Obverse

Description

2012P(SAC)-100DEO-001T has trails from the word LIBERTY on the Sacagawea obverse of a 2012 Native American dollar. They run at 280°, a little north of due west, toward the left side of the coin. The code follows TrailDies' usual pattern, with 2012P giving year and mint, (SAC) the design, 100 the one-dollar denomination, DEO the obverse side and 001T the file and trail type. Jean Lee found the die. The coin is from early in the die's life (stage A), with nothing on the obverse and small dimples in the ICA of AMERICA on the reverse. The general view puts trails down to rotary polishing of the die, with die-to-hub movement as the less favoured idea.
