2011 (P) Native American Dollar - Position A - P(SAC)-100DER-001T Trail Die Reverse

Description

2011P(SAC)-100DER-001T is the reverse of a 2011 Native American dollar, the design with two hands and the peace pipe, and it has two sets of trails. One runs at 080°, just north of due east, off the thumb of the pipe-holding hand, the closing letters of WAMPANOAG TREATY and the 1621 date. The other runs at 160°, south-southeast, from the lower edges of WAMPANOAG TREATY's letters, the tips of the rawhide strips hanging at the cuff, and the designer's initials. Its number: year and mint 2011P, series tag (SAC), denomination 100, side DER (reverse), file 001, type T (trails). Neither side of the early-state coin has markers. Mike Carroll found it. For most specialists, trails come from rotary polishing of the die; some favour the die moving against the hub.
