Description
On 2011P-1DEO-018T the trails show on the upper part of UST in TRUST and, more lightly, on the last 1 of the date, running at 330°, north-northwest. The TrailDies number breaks down as 2011P (date, Philadelphia), 1 (cent), DEO (obverse, design extension), 018 (file) and T (trails). No obverse markers turn up on TrailDies' stage B coin; on the reverse, die scratches run through BUS UNUM on the shield's banner. Bear Johnson found the die. The usual explanation is that a rotary buff used to polish the die drags the design outward, while some attribute trails to the die moving against the hub.
