2011 (P) Lincoln Shield Cent - P-1DEO-008T Trail Die Obverse

Description

On 2011P-1DEO-008T the lines leave the upper left corner of each letter of LIBERTY and run northwest, at 320°, up and to the left. In TrailDies' scheme that number means a 2011 Philadelphia cent (2011P and 1), the obverse side with a design extension (DEO), file 008, and a T for trails. The middle-die-state coin it describes has a small metal-flow line beside the O in GOD, and on the reverse a very small chip toward the top of the shield's left edge. Jim Fines found the die. A rotary buff dragged across the die while it was being polished is the cause usually given for trails, though some attribute them to the die moving against the hub.

• Stage “B“, obverse is MDS – a small metal flow line is seen to the light of the O in GOD.
• Reverse is MDS – a very small die chip is seen in the left upper edge of the shield.
