2011 (P) Lincoln Shield Cent - -1DER-011T Trail Die Reverse

Description

2011-1DER-011T is a 2011 Philadelphia Lincoln Shield cent reverse; TrailDies prints the number without a mint letter, and the remaining parts are the denomination 1, DER for the reverse, where the design extends, the file 011 and T, trails. Faint trails show on EPU and lightly off the outer edge of the IT in UNITED, running at 030°, north-northeast. On the middle-die-state coin TrailDies describes, the reverse has a crack and break at the shield's upper left, with a branch heading southwest toward the L of PLURIBUS. On the obverse it notes slight thickening of the TY of LIBERTY and the 20 of the date. Louis Schaeffer found the die. Trails are usually put down to polishing the die with a rotary buff; some attribute them to the die moving against the hub.
